New marine Engineer Apprenticeship standard published
The new marine engineer apprenticeship standard has been published by the Government.
The document, which describes the job role that an apprentice will be doing and the skills required of them by the marine engineering sector, can be found at the following link:

An employer-led group will now help produce the associated assessment plan and will in time work with the qualification body to develop specific qualifications to support this new apprenticeship standard.
The new apprenticeship standard will replace the relevant engineering manufacture framework pathway.
The Government has recently published proposals for how the transition from frameworks to standards will be undertaken. These proposals also cover the suggested funding changes that will impact all employers who take on apprentices from May 2017 under the existing apprenticeship frameworks.
