Seavision UK My Maritime World competition and new website

Seavision UK, the not for profit initiative to promote awareness of the maritime sector amongst 11 to 22 year olds, have launched a competition called My Maritime World as well as launching a new website to showcase the breadth and composition of the UK maritime/marine sector.

Open to all working across the diversity of the maritime/marine sector and based within UK, entry is simply by submitting a short video clip describing your maritime work environment/workplace in sufficient detail to inform and enthuse the career aspirations of 11 to 18 year olds.

It needn't be ritzy but it does need to be balanced, honest and jargon free. The best 2 submissions will win a Nexus tablet. Judging will take place during Seafarers Awareness Week (24 to 30 June 2013), reflecting the support of the nautical charity Seafarers UK in the important task of raising awareness of the maritime amongst young people.

SeaVision has also launched a new Digital Information Hub which is designed to engage the interest of 11 to 22 year olds through a dynamic mix of maritime material, news, activities, educational resource and unique insights into many of the career opportunities brought alive by young role models sharing their experiences from their respective areas of work.
