Raising awareness for proposed marine competition in vessel efficiency
Marine South East is working with the Transport KTN to raise awareness of a potential competition in vessel efficiency expected to launch in January 2013.
This competition will be the first of its kind in the marine industry and to ensure that the marine and maritime community is well-prepared for it, we are working with the Transport KTN to raise awareness of the compeition.
It is also expected that there will be a nationwide consortia-building event in late November.
This will be the first time that a collaborative R&D competition of this type has been initiated for the marine industry in the UK. It draws heavily on the recently developed marine industries roadmap, and Marine Growth Strategy review, both of which the Transport KTN supported throughout 2011 and 2012.
This competition is a significant opportunity for the marine industry and it is vital that the industry responds to it with high quality submissions - strong engagement now will provide intelligence on how capability can be strengthened within the UK, enabling further growth in international markets.
