Leadership and Management Skills series of courses starting November 2010

Britain’s Got Talent. Can you manage it?

The University of Portsmouth has developed a series of two day courses in Leadership and Management Skills which have been specifically designed for busy working professionals running or employed in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

The courses are aimed at management who would like the flexibility of consolidating their work experience and learning new skills but who currently do not have the time to attend University on a weekly basis.

The courses, which will be held at the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce offices in Havant, are as follows:

4 and 11 November 2010 - Professional Practice for SME Transformation

Without effective leadership, organisations lack purpose. In today's complex global environment, effective leadership is critical to sustain and transform SMEs. This course addresses professional leadership practice for SMEs.

8 and 15 December 2010 - Understanding SME Finance

It is clear that in order to run a profitable business, finance needs to understood and this course is designed to provide delegates with a basic understanding of financial principles.

12 and 19 January 2011 - Sales and Marketing for SMEs

Successful sales and marketing functions are fundamental to the success of all businesses and this course will provide an understanding of the marketing and sales processes.

16 and 23 February 2011 - Strategic Change for Growth in SMEs

Delegates will gain an understanding of how to influence and manage the business change processes which directly affect survival and growth of an SME.
