How to improve profitability and sustainability, MareNet event 10th November 2010, Hamble

Marine South East, in partnership with Eastleigh Borough Council, are delighted to be hosting this timely event looking at opportunities to improve companies’ profitability whilst reducing their environmental impact.

The event will explore a number of initiatives which have been developed to assist companies wishing to improve their bottom line profits whilst at the same time addressing environmental and sustainability issues.

The event will take place on Wednesday 10th November 2010 at the RAF Yacht Club, Rope Walk, Hamble, SO31 4HD

Every company will have differing environmental aspirations and the SMARTA (Sustainable Marine Transformation and Assessment) project aims to assist companies by working with the directors to design specific customised plans.

Waste reduction, resource efficiency, improved product design and optimised production all lead to increased profitability. SMARTA, lead by Marine South East, can help deliver all of the above for marine companies. Through the project, your company could have access to 2 days manufacturing consultancy, 5 days environmental consultancy and 5 days design consultancy - all free of charge - as the project is jointly funded by SEEDA and the European Regional Development Fund through the South East ERDF Competitiveness Programme 2007-13.

The DIBS (Design and Innovation for Business Sustainability) project aims to encourage SMEs to introduce new and innovative products and services whilst ensuring they meet legislative requirements and the spirit of the sustainability agenda. The project will examine how effective and efficient a company is at using its own resources and what new technologies are available to improve its products and services.

DIBS provides free specific and general workshops on new technologies, processes, services and legislation. The project also delivers free one-to-one support which is totally focused on the company's development and growth needs, and access to a network of experts and specific expertise where required.

Eastleigh Borough Council will be presenting on Economic Development issues and opportunities within the borough, and will be on hand before and after the event for further discussions.

The presentations will be followed at 6:00pm by a buffet and networking session, during which the speakers and project partners will be on hand to provide additional information on the projects and discuss options for tailored assistance programmes.

Registration for the event will open at 3:45pm with the first presentation commencing at 4:00pm.

MareNet events are free of charge to delegates, but, if having registered you subsequently find that you are unable to attend, please be courteous and give 48 hours notice of cancellation.
