Survey to streamline future business support - please assist us by completing this online survey

As you may well have read in the press, the new Government is rethinking how and to what extent it should support business expansion and wealth creation. Marine South East believe this is absolutely the right thing to be doing now, to ensure that every pound of tax-payers' expenditure on business support ultimately helps companies to prosper and grow.

Marine South East are asking all newsletter subscribers to participate in an on-line survey, which comprises 6 simple check-box questions and will take less than 5 minutes to complete.

Your answers will contribute to an analysis of the barriers to business growth, and if/how those barriers could best be tackled through business support in future. The aggregated results will be presented in a summary report which we will submit to key Ministers, MPs and Councillors, and of course publish on our website.

Marine South East has met with many hundreds of marine businesses, so we know that some support measures in the past have been considered unnecessary or wasteful, while others have proved to be effective.

Company directors and managers have a crucial role to play in shaping the support that is offered to them, and we want to make sure that marine businesses have a major influence, in line with our industry's importance to many local economies.

The retrenchment of public expenditure now underway presents a rare opportunity to focus business support onto priority measures that really can make a difference. We need your feedback to help define these priorities, and to recommend if/how these could best be delivered. The credibility of the survey will depend entirely on the number of businesses participating in it, so please have your say, and complete the survey now by following the link below.
