Solent Maritime Integration Project : survey and workshop

The Solent Maritime Integration Project is an exciting new project to engage businesses and enterprises in the Solent to develop and build a supply chain map to facilitate economic development and improvements for the Solent Maritime area.

The Solent Maritime Integration Project (MIP) is building a picture of supply chain and procurement opportunities presented by the ports, harbours and logistics sector. The project was launched last month and Marine South East believes it could offer significant benefits to marine companies in terms of:

* Highlighting opportunities for SE businesses to supply goods and services currently imported from further afield
* Identifying potential for marine companies to diversify into the ports, harbours & logistics supply chains

In addition, the project will enhance the profile of the maritime industry through a better understanding of its economic impact.

Organisations (whatever their size, in the Solent Region) are being asked to complete a simple on-line survey which will then entitle them to a place on the supply chain map.

All survey participants will receive an executive report of the main findings of the project and the opportunity to engage with future Solent Maritime developments.

To participate in the survey please visit http://www.solentmip.com

In addition MSE is co-hosting with the University of Southampton Business School a free workshop on 28th April 2010, in Southampton, where companies will learn how they can benefit from the project. Further details will be confirmed shortly but in the meantime please register your interest by booking your place now.
