The aim of the conference is to support the economic prosperity of the Southampton City Region and the objectives are:
1) To develop a local worldclass workforce;
2) To facilitate discussion between Business and Education Leaders to better understand the skills needs of employers;
3) To brief employers about new qualifications which aim to better equip young people for technological change and global competition;
4) To facilitate collaboration and partnership to bring about local action.

The event will include a keynote speech by Sir Digby Jones, UK Skills envoy and former head of the CBI. There will also be presentations from Peter Grant - Manager, Hampshire Skills for Productivity Alliance and Sally Lynskey - Chief Executive, Business Southampton.
