South East success in Superyacht Awards

South East superyacht companies reigned supreme at this year’s Boat International Superyacht Awards, held in Venice on 27th April, winning 8 of the 15 awards. This is an incredible achievement for the region and shows the strength of design and talent in the region.

The list of winners from the South East included:
• Stylist awards for Tim Heywood Designs and Terence Disdale Design in the Best Displacement Motor Yacht of 1300 to 2999GT category, as well as Interior designer award again for Terence Disdale.
• Naval Architect and stylist awards for Tony Castro and Interior Designer award for Dick Young Designs in the Best Diplacement Motor Yacht of below 500GT category.
• Best Motor Yacht Interior for Terence Disdale Design
• Best Motor Yacht Exterior styling for Dubois Naval Architects
• Stylist design award to Tim Heywood Designs and Interior designer Award to Terence Disdale Design in the Motor Yacht of the Year category.
• Stylist and Interior Designer awards to Ken Freivokh in the Best Sailing Yacht in the 45m+ size category
• Interior designer award to Dick Young Designs in the Best sailing Yacht in 30m to 44m size category
• Ken Freivokh also won awards in the Best Sailing Yacht Interior category and 2 awards in the Sailing Yacht of the Year category.

“This shows that superyacht design in the South East is of a world beating standard, we have a hub of incredible talent in the region that can only help the superyacht industry grow and prosper in the area. With our development of the waterfront strategy we want to make sure that there is provision for facilities to help superyacht companies and suppliers expand in the South East.”
