Offshore Wind Investment Organisation announced by Government...

UK Business and Energy Minister, Michael Fallon has announced the creation of an Offshore Wind Investment Organisation (OWIO) to boost levels of inward investment and to further stimulate jobs in the UK offshore wind industry.

Apprenticeship scheme doubled by local marine builder...

Local marine builder, Griffon Hoverwork have announced they are to double the size of their Apprenticeship Scheme to create 20 new jobs for young people.

New Tidal Energy company relocates to Isle of Wight...

Isle of Wight MP Andrew Turner recently opened the new HQ offices of innovative technology company Sustainable Marine Energy (SME). The company has relocated to new offices and workshops at Trinity Wharf in East Cowes because they believe that the Isle of Wight has the right support and local supply chain to enable it to build a pioneering new tidal energy turbine platform.

Developer of Navitus Bay wind farm releases shortlist of Southern ports to serve as operations base for offshore project...

Navitus Bay is due to sign a memoranda of understandings (MoUs) with Poole, Portland on the Dorset coast and Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight. The developer, a 50/50 joint venture between EDF of France and Dutch utility Eneco, claims the port eventually chosen as O&M base could reap a £670m economic windfall over 25 years.
