London International Shipping Week is one of the most important international shipping and maritime events with hundreds of events attracting thousands of international industry decision-makers every year. Over 200 industry functions and unique networking opportunities are on offer, for leaders across all sectors of the international shipping industry; regulators, charterers, ship owners, ship managers, bunker suppliers, lawyers, ship brokers, bankers, insurers, insurance brokers, commodity traders and brokers, ship suppliers, port operators, shipping service providers and many more.

The LISW23 Headline Conference and Gala Dinner attract the very highest-level government and shipping industry leaders from the UK and around the world.

LISW is a cluster event. This means that rather than being centred around an exhibition hall, the organisations supporting LISW run their own events. These events are many and varied, and include seminars, cocktail receptions, conferences and product launches. They are run by international organisations and marine trade associations from all sectors of the shipping industry, and the week is actively supported by the UK Government. Highlights of the week include the official LISW Headline Conference and the LISW Gala Dinner.

More than 200 individual events will be run in venues across the heart of London.  Many take place in the city itself, others make use of the iconic buildings London has to offer, like the IMO building and the Maritime Museum, Greenwich.

The LISW23 Headline Conference, entitled Reframing Risk in a Complex Market’ brings together the leading voices in the sector to debate crucial industry issues including decarbonisation and diversity, and how the contractual and risk sharing agenda can evolve in such a way that cooperation and collaboration form the cornerstones of strategy.

Among the latest speakers to be announced are: Stanko Jekov, Managing Partner & Global Head of Dry Cargo at Simpson Spence Young (SSY); Arsenio Dominguez, Director Marine Environment Division at the IMO; Kulsoom Jafri, Lead Campaigner Seafarers & Inland Navigation at the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF); Charis Plakantonaki, Chief Strategy Officer at Star Bulk Carriers Corp; and Michael Parker, Chairman Global Shipping, Logistics & Offshore at Citi.
