The 24th edition of Seawork returns to Mayflower Park in Southampton 13-15 June 2023 providing the annual meeting place for the commercial marine and workboat sector. The event delivers an international audience of visitors as well as major stakeholders who make up the industry’s key associations and representative organisations. 

This year’s event will focus on how the commercial marine industry is adapting and innovating to face the dual pressures of reducing operational expenditure at the same time as meeting the mandatory targets to decarbonise operations.

Conferences and Business Briefings 
The Seawork Conferences have been revised to deliver shorter, bitesize, in-person sessions to enable visitors to focus on specific topics relevant to their organisation, while maximising the time for business at the exhibition.

UK Government Department Business Briefings 
Once again there will be a strong presence at Seawork by UK Government Departments, including the National Shipbuilding Office (NSO), as well as Ministry of Defence (MOD) and the newly formed Department for Business and Trade (DBT) hosting business briefings.

The Commercial Marine Network (Seawork and Maritime Journal), in partnership with The Workboat Association, will continue with the third series of the informative Get Set For Workboat 2050.  These sessions look at practical applications of decarbonisation and provide implementable examples of operators who are employing technology, innovation, and design to reduce their environmental footprint.

The Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) will host a Conference Session focused on ‘Understanding the Power of Tidal Projects’.  Speakers from Industry leading projects TPGEN24 and TIGER (Tidal Stream Industry Energiser) will outline opportunities for marine civils in delivering key offshore infrastructure; the magnitude of investment needed to build and maintain tidal power projects; the benefits, resilience, and longevity of tidal green energy; and the environmental implications for this renewable energy sector.  

Speed@Seawork on Monday 12th June at the Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes offers a sector specific event for fast vessels operating at high speed for security interventions and Search & Rescue. Aimed squarely at facilitating growth and development for the design, build and operation of these vessels, Speed@Seawork turns the spotlight on this significant specialist sector of the commercial marine business, offering knowledge sharing, networking, exhibiting, sponsorship and demonstration opportunities.

Careers & Training Day 
Seawork is working with Maritime UK and the Solent LEP to deliver an exciting Careers Fair and Careers event for students on the final day of Seawork, 15th June 2023. 

It will bring students and young people, aged between 15 and 19, to Seawork from local school, colleges, training centres, universities to see first-hand what a job in the commercial marine industry could look like and to gain insight as to the opportunities available. 

The European Commercial Marine Awards (ECMAs) and Innovations Showcase. 
These prestigious awards attract entries from across Europe, recognising the depth of excellence in the commercial marine industry.

The ECMAs, sponsored by Siemens, celebrate the outstanding individuals and innovative companies that comprise this vibrant and productive industry sector. Judged by a panel of industry experts, the ECMAs are presented at an awards evening on the opening day of Seawork.

The Seawork Innovations Showcase display, sponsored by SMI, provides visitors with the opportunity to see the latest in equipment, services, projects and vessels that have been introduced to the commercial marine market since the last Seawork exhibition.
