Innovate UK has published its plans for the future in a new prospectus recently launched. 

The publication aims to address the issue that the UK has one of the strongest research bases in the world but lacks globally scaled companies that should accompany this. 

According to Innovate UK, the UK excels at making discoveries, generating IP, spinning out and starting up but when it comes to scaling, too many innovative businesses fail, stall or move overseas. 

This is a gap that Innovate plans to close by focusing on industrialising innovation, because fast growing businesses are built on innovation and that drives real economic value.
