On 14th October, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency will be hosting a symposium with the theme of Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS) and the North Sea MASS Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Remotely operated vessels and uncrewed surface vessels have been paving the way for the growing maritime autonomy sector and have the potential to transform the shipping industry.

Their mission is to support this acceleration, ensuring the safety of shipping, safe working practices, and the protection of the marine environment.

Held at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, the event will be a collaboration between the MoU Signatories as they discuss the direction of the upcoming MASS Code and its influence on respective domestic regulatory landscapes.
